Joanne Hanna

Principal Clinical Psychologist

Jo  is a registered Clinical Psychologist who completed her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of New England. She brings over eight years of experience working in private practice, supporting clients across a broad range of emotional and mental health concerns.

Jo  believes the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful  change. With this in mind, she strives to create a collaborative,  comfortable, and non-judgmental space where clients feel safe and  supported. Jo's approach is attachment-based, and she often explores how  early life experiences may shape emotional well-being and current  patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating.

Jo  has a special interest in working with young people—including children,  adolescents, families, and young adults—as they navigate the complexities of emotional well-being and personal development. She is particularly passionate about providing affirming, inclusive support to  individuals who are neurodivergent, as well as those who are sexually and/or gender diverse. With a warm, collaborative approach, Jo is committed to creating a safe and  respectful space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to thrive.

Jo uses evidence-based treatments and draws from a range of therapeutic modalities, including Family Therapy,  Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT),  and Schema Therapy.
